This dispute is before us on the district court's1 dismissal of the case, with prejudice, as a sanction for discovery abuse. We affirm.

I. BACKGROUND

In the spring of 1999, Empire Bank of Springfield, Missouri, ("the bank") loaned $130,000 to Good Stewardship Christian Center (GSCC) to purchase two pieces of property. GSCC defaulted on the loan, and subsequently, in May 2000, the bank commenced foreclosure...
