¶ 1. On January 13, 2000, Elizabeth Slater (Slater) attempted to evade arrest by City of Jackson police officers after she allegedly attempted to pass a forged check at a bank. A pursuit began and lasted approximately 40-60 seconds. While fleeing from the police, Slater's vehicle crashed into the side of Jamie Fowler Boyll's (Boyll) vehicle at the intersection of Ridgewood Road and Northside Drive in Jackson.
