Maurice McDonald received three life sentences for his role as a significant figure in a drug-distribution ring. On appeal, two of his life sentences were remanded for resentencing, and one was affirmed. After resentencing, the defendant filed this appeal contesting both the sentence we affirmed on his first appeal and a sentence that was remanded. The District Court1
