After participating in a number of financial transactions involving a now-bankrupt corporation, Donald Heavrin was indicted on 14 counts of bankruptcy fraud. The trial commenced in October of 2000. At the end of the trial, but before the case was submitted to the jury, Heavrin moved for a judgment of acquittal on all of the charges pursuant to Rule 29 of the Federal Rules of Criminal...
