John Don Layton was convicted of unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal possession of a firearm. His convictions and sentences were affirmed by the Court of Appeals in State v. Layton, 31 Kan.App.2d 350, 65 P.3d 551
