The state charged defendant-respondent by bill of information with violations of La.R.S. 14:46.1, false imprisonment when the offender is armed with a dangerous weapon, and La.R.S. 14:44.1, second degree kidnapping. After trial by jury in October, 2001, he was found guilty as charged on both counts. The trial court sentenced respondent to concurrent terms of 10 years imprisonment at hard labor for false imprisonment and to 25 years imprisonment at hard...
