¶ 1. On January 22, 2000, Gregory Hicks (Hicks) was arrested for the murder of Danny Joe Rainey (Rainey) that occurred on January 21, 2000, in Montgomery County, Mississippi. On February 8, 2000, the Justice Court of Montgomery County bound Hicks over to the grand jury which indicted him.
