On November 7, 1996, a fire ravaged the Heaven Hill facility located in Nelson County, Kentucky. The fire destroyed seven warehouses containing bourbon whiskey. Heaven Hill had already sold the bourbon to various customers and was merely storing it while it aged, prior to bottling.
