Defendant Joseph Jackson was charged by bill of information on March 17, 2000, with possession of cocaine in violation of La. R.S. 40:967. Defendant pleaded not guilty at his March 22, 2000, arraignment. After a hearing on July 24, 2000, the trial court denied the defendant's motion to suppress the evidence. That same day the bill of information was amended to charge the defendant with the greater offense of possession with the intent to distribute...
