On January 3, 1999, officers of the Lexington-Fayette Division of Police discovered the dead body of Keisha Hughes in apartment 405, 325 Bainbridge, Lexington, Kentucky, a residence she shared with her husband, Appellant Troy DeWayne Hughes, and her two children by a previous relationship. Appellant later confessed to killing his wife by strangulation. He entered a conditional guilty plea, RCr 8.09, to murder and was sentenced to forty years in prison...
