HARWOOD, Justice.

Donald Toney entered a plea of guilty to second-degree theft on June 14, 1999; he was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment. That sentence was split and Toney was ordered to serve two years' imprisonment. See § 15-18-8, Ala.Code 1975. The balance of the sentence was suspended, and he was placed on probation for five years. One of the conditions of his probation was that he not to leave the State of Alabama without the permission of his probation...
