Ronald Kent Taylor (defendant) was indicted on 22 January 2001 for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The State's evidence presented at trial tended to show that defendant and Julie Roy (Ms. Roy) attended a Christmas party together on 9 December 2000.
