The case arises from a collision at the intersection of Gridley Street and Bay Shore Road in West Islip, on October 22, 1997, which resulted in the death of the plaintiff's decedent, Deneen Breslin. The accident occurred when the decedent, whose car had been facing north on Gridley Street and was stopped at a stop sign, made a left turn onto Bay Shore...
