This case is before this Court upon appeal of a final order of the Circuit Court of Berkeley County entered on January 5, 2001. In that order, the circuit court denied motions for a competency hearing and a new trial filed by the appellant and defendant below, Roy Eddie Slaton, Jr., and sentenced him to an indeterminate term of not less than 15 nor more than 35 years in the state penitentiary for his conviction...
