NATURE OF CASE

This appeal arises from Billy Ray Billups' request for postconviction relief pursuant to Neb.Rev.Stat. § 29-3001 et seq. (Reissue 1995). Billups alleged that his conviction violated his right not to be placed in jeopardy twice for the same offense and that he received ineffective assistance of counsel. The district court denied postconviction relief without an evidentiary hearing, and Billups appeals.
