Defendant-Appellant Michael Arakawa (Arakawa) appeals from the Amended Judgment of Probation entered in the Family Court of the Second Circuit ("family court") on December 27, 2000. Following a bench trial,1 Arakawa was convicted of Abuse of Family or Household Members in violation of Hawai`i Revised Statutes (HRS) § 709-906 (Supp.2001).2
