A jury found appellant Brandon Dewayne Johnson guilty of aggravated kidnapping, for which the district court assessed punishment at twenty years' imprisonment. See Tex. Pen.Code Ann. § 20.04 (West Supp.2002). Appellant contends he is entitled to a new trial because the court reporter failed to record certain bench conferences during jury selection.
