Hartford Insurance sued Continental Casualty Company for damages that Hartford alleged it suffered as a result of the activity of Continental's agent. Continental was served, failed to answer, and Hartford sought and received a default judgment. Seeking relief from the default judgment, Continental filed a motion for new trial.
