In May of 1990, plaintiff purchased Hygeia Sciences Inc. (Hygeia), the wholly-owned subsidiary of defendant, which produced a five-minute pregnancy test kit and a 10-minute ovulation test kit, under the brand name FIRST RESPONSE.
