We have before us an appeal in a bankruptcy case. After plaintiffs obtained a multi-million dollar verdict in California state court against Peter Bogdanovich, Bogdanovich and his wife, Louise, filed a petition for bankruptcy in the Southern District of New York. In so doing the debtors obtained an automatic stay preventing plaintiffs from reducing their favorable verdict into a final judgment. In...
