This appeal is taken from a judgment, entered in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Yanthis, M.J.), dismissing as a matter of law an inmate's § 1983 claim that prison officials violated his Fourth Amendment rights by conducting a warrantless search of his prison cell. The search was conducted at the behest of the police, who were seeking evidence of an uncharged crime, and did not serve any purpose...
