{¶ 1} Defendant-appellant Jackie L. Beach, Jr., was indicted on two counts of nonsupport of dependents in violation of R.C. 2919.21(A). On April 9, 2001, the first day of trial, the state moved to amend the indictment to change the dates of the offense in each count of the indictment.
