At issue is whether it is within the discretion of the court to compel a witness for the prosecution to submit to a psychological examination by an expert selected by the defense, as part of the discovery process, and if so, whether or not it is appropriate to do so in this case. For the reasons that follow, the court concludes that it does not have any such authority...
