Defendant, A.J. Davies, was tried and convicted of second degree murder, two counts of attempted aggravated rape and two counts of second degree kidnapping. Defendant filed a Motion for Post Verdict Judgment of Acquittal which was denied. On August 15, 2001, the trial court sentenced defendant to life at hard labor without benefit on the second degree murder conviction.
