¶ 1. The Grand Jury of Carroll County indicted Alvin Edwards on one count of statutory rape for the rape of GJH. The jury found Edwards guilty, and Edwards moved for a JNOV. The court denied Edwards's motion and sentenced Edwards to eight years in the custody of MDOC with four years suspended for a period of five years and four years to serve; upon completion of the sentence, Edwards was to be placed on probation for four years.
