At issue in this appeal by the defendant, First Guaranty Bank (hereinafter "FGB"), is the propriety of a default judgment in favor of the plaintiff, Billie J. Crump, awarding her the face value of a money market certificate plus accrued interest and expenses. FGB argues that because it filed discovery responses into the record and because Crump failed to establish a prima facie case of liability, the trial court erred in confirming the default judgment...
