Appellant Russell Werley was charged and convicted of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and sentenced as a prison releasee reoffender to a mandatory sentence of 15 years. Appellant allegedly battered his wife, Mrs. Werley, by striking her in the face with a beer bottle at home.
