On February 17, 2000, a grand jury indicted defendant, Chester Onezime, with the December 22, 1999 second degree murder of Jonita Sartin. LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. On February 22, 2000, defendant was arraigned and entered a not guilty plea. On March 2, 2000, defendant filed numerous pre-trial motions, including a motion to suppress statements.
