Watkins was disbarred on November 6, 1991, following his pleading guilty to three felony counts of financial institution fraud and making false statements to influence the actions of a federally insured financial institution. Watkins has now petitioned the Mississippi Bar for reinstatement. The Mississippi Bar opposes his reinstatement.
