The Probate Rules Committee of The Florida Bar (rules committee) has filed an emergency petition to amend the Florida Probate Rules. We have jurisdiction. See art. V, § 2(a), Fla. Const.

In 2001, the Florida Legislature passed extensive revisions to the Florida Probate Code. See ch. 2001-226, Laws of Fla. The rules committee filed the instant petition on an emergency basis because the January 1, 2002, effective date of the statutes...
