In July 2000, R.J. filed a petition in the Clay County Juvenile Court seeking custody of T.S.K, a minor child. Among other things, the petition alleged that in 1997, R.J. had been adjudicated the father of T.S.K. in a paternity proceeding brought by the child's mother, K.K.; that the mother had formally relinquished custody of the child to C.K. and R.K. (the child's maternal grandparents) in an August 1999 judicial proceeding of which R.J. had not...
