M.R., a 14-year-old juvenile, was found to be a child in need of care and placed in a group home. She refused to attend school or to perform court-ordered community service in lieu of school attendance. The district judge initiated indirect contempt proceedings and ultimately found M.R. to be in indirect contempt, placing her in a juvenile detention center during the day and confining her to the group home...
