¶ 1. Sherman Oby was convicted of possession of cocaine by the Circuit Court of Panola County. On October 12, 2001, Oby was sentenced as a habitual offender to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole under Mississippi Code Annotated § 99-19-83 (Rev.2000).
