In December 1999, Tina Broughton, as administratrix of the estate of Melissa St. Laurent, sued Allstate Insurance Company, Commercial Union Insurance Company, and The Miller Mutual Insurance Company, for uninsured-and/or-underinsured-motorist benefits.
