PROCEDURAL HISTORY AND FACTS

¶ 1. In March 1993, Jerry Rice pled guilty to and was convicted of the crimes of capital murder and kidnaping. A Bolivar County Circuit Court judge sentenced him to serve a life sentence for the capital murder, which was committed during an arson, and thirty years for kidnaping, said sentences to run consecutively.
