Kenisha Duncan was indicted by a grand jury for the second degree murder of her daughter, Chantell Duncan, on December 19, 2000, in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. The defendant pled not guilty. The indictment was later amended to provide that the killing occurred between December 17, 1996 and December 18, 2000. Immediately prior to trial, the State again amended the indictment to provide that the acts occurred between September 3, 1997 and December 18...
