Defendant, Deidre Antoinette Pierre, was originally indicted on June 18, 1998. with one count of first degree murder in violation of La.R.S. 14:30 and one count of attempted first degree murder in violation of La.R.S. 14:27 and 14:30. On December 10, 1999, the indictment was amended to reduce the charges to one count of second degree murder in violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1 and one count attempted second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14...
