After a jury trial, appellant Keith Thomas was convicted1 of: (1) carrying a pistol without a license, in violation of D.C.Code § 22-3204(a)2 ("CPWL"); (2) possession of an unregistered firearm, in violation of D.C.Code § 6-2311(a);3 and (3) unlawful possession of ammunition, in violation of D.C.Code § 6-2361(3).4
