The defendant appeals from convictions of conspiracy to commit mayhem and conspiracy to commit assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. The evidence favorable to the Commonwealth at trial showed that the defendant engaged one Hathaway to murder George Markos and shoot Konstantinos Travayiakis ("Kostos") in the knees. The defendant and Hathaway, who were prior acquaintances, had three meetings...
