STATEMENT OF THE CASE

On July 6, 2001 the defendant, Anthony Martin, was charged with one count of simple possession of heroin. At his arraignment on July 23 he pled not guilty. However, on August 29 he withdrew this plea and pled guilty as charged. The court sentenced him to four years at hard labor, suspended, and placed him on four years active probation with various conditions...
