Michael Joseph Brown stabbed John Roy in the chest and was indicted on one count of second degree murder in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1111(a) and 18 U.S.C. § 1153(a).1 After a jury trial, he was convicted of the lesser included offense of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to ninety-seven months in prison and three years of supervised release.
