This case came before the Court for oral argument on May 14, 2002, pursuant to the appeal of the defendant, Milton Aponte (defendant), from a judgment of conviction for first-degree child molestation sexual assault. The defendant argues that the trial justice erred in denying his motion to suppress incriminating statements he gave to the police in which he admitted to sexually molesting a fifteen-month-old girl.
