Following a bench trial, Michael Austin was convicted of three counts of attempted first degree murder (720 ILCS 5/8-4, 9-1) (West 1992).) three counts of armed violence (720 ILCS 5/33A-2, 12-4(A) (West 1992)), and three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm.
