Defendant, Cedric E. Hunter, appeals his conviction of forgery (720 ILCS 5/17-3(a)(1) (West 2000)). On appeal, defendant contends that (1) the evidence was insufficient to convict him beyond a reasonable doubt; (2) the jury was prejudicially tainted by the comment of a potential juror in open court; and (3) he was prejudiced by the State's improper argument, which shifted the burden of proof to defendant.
