Between 1916 and 1928 the Rosinco — the first diesel — electric vessel berthed in Chicago — was one of the largest (at 95 feet and 82 gross tons) and most opulent yachts on the Great Lakes. While en route from Milwaukee to Chicago early on September 19, 1928, the Rosinco struck something and sank in 185 feet of water about 12 miles off Kenosha, Wisconsin.
