Justice GROMETER delivered the opinion of the court:

Respondent, Dexter L., was placed on probation for a period of five years on April 15, 1999. Respondent was 15 years old at the time. Subsequent to respondent's seventeenth birthday, the State filed a petition to revoke his probation. Respondent admitted to some of the allegations set forth in the petition. The trial court modified the conditions of respondent's probation and ordered that he be detained for 30 days...
