¶ 1 In this case we consider the application of a law drafted more than one hundred years ago to the most modern of preoccupations—the Internet. I.M.L., a high school student, was charged with criminal libel for creating an Internet web site on which he displayed disparaging comments about his teachers, classmates, and principal. He moved to dismiss, claiming that the statute under which he was charged unduly burdens free speech...
