Defendant pleaded guilty to the crime of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and was sentenced in accordance with the plea to 6 to 12 years in prison. On appeal, he challenges his conviction on the basis that he was denied the effective assistance of counsel. Specifically, he asserts that defense counsel failed to request the Trial Judge to recuse himself based upon a conflict of interest arising from the Judge's prior prosecution...
