Charles Jones, age 16, was certified to stand trial as an adult on the charge of first-degree murder for the July 21, 1998, shooting death of Robert Trzok. The victim was shot three times in the back of the head, causing his immediate death. On appeal, Jones alleged he was denied due process based upon lack of notice to his parents, in violation of K.S.A. 38-1636...
