SHAW, Judge.

Rickey Burgin appeals the circuit court's summary denial of his Rule 32, Ala.R.Crim.P., petition for postconviction relief, in which he attacked his 1998 conviction for capital murder, see § 13A-5-40(a)(10), Ala.Code 1975, and his resulting sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. This Court affirmed Burgin's conviction and sentence on direct appeal. See Burgin v. State, 747 So.2d 916
